A food ministry bringing food to the those in need in the Central Virginia Area

What is Baruch?

Baruch is Hebrew for "blessed."
Since 2004, Baruch has blessed those all over our community in need with food. Our clients are the elderly, disabled and working financially disadvantaged in Central Virginia who fall between the cracks of other food programs. We offer personalized assistance with dignity as we bring food directly to over 1000 people each month who find it difficult or impossible to make use of traditional food pantries. Baruch works in partnership with community agencies including Elder Homes, Better Housing Coalition, Jewish Family Services and many other community partners.

We are not part of the "food bank" as we reach people outside their scope that they would otherwise let go hungry.

Baruch is a 501(c)3 non-profit agency. All contributions are tax-deductible.

How we Help

We provide food to families and individuals in the Central Virginia area. Baruch’s beneficiaries are primarily the elderly and disabled, an often underserved segment of our community. Many have needs exceeding the resources of most food bank and church food pantries in the area.

Regular food deliveries are made to housing communities bringing our donations directly to those in need.

Food delivery is available by appointment for those who have physical or transportation difficulties that
live outside our regularly served communities.

How can you help

Financial contributions
All donations are 100% taxdeductible. under IRS 501(c)3
At least 95% of your donation goes directly to feeding those in need as we work hard to keep our overhead costs minimal

Volunteer your time
Contact us to learn about opportunities to help with food pick-up or delivery.

Product contributions
We gladly welcome product donations from grocers, food manufacturers, restaurateurs, and wholesale suppliers. When placing your company order, please consider ordering an extra case or two of food to
donate.
